Support for PPE Supplies

Frequently Asked Questions

The PPE Support Program is closed as of September 30, 2020.

This program will help participating dentists cover the increased costs related to purchasing N95 masks, sterilization procedures and equipment, and other sanitary requirements resulting from the COVID-19 crisis.

What is the benefit of the Support for PPE Supplies Program?
We will pay $10 per patient visit for DDNJ or DDCT covered members.

When does the program begin and end?
It begins when New Jersey and Connecticut lift emergency care restrictions and dental professionals are once again permitted to provide routine and preventive dental care. It will terminate after two months.

When will I receive my payment?
Payments will be made monthly as a bulk payment that reflects the total number of DDNJ or DDCT patient visits. Dates of service during the two-month timeframe of the Support for PPE Supplies Program are the only dates of service eligible for this payment. Claims must be received within 30 days of the date of service in order for DDNJ/DDCT to calculate payments. More details regarding the payment process and requirements will be shared once this program starts.

Do I need to apply to receive this benefit?
No; all dentists who meet the DSP eligibility requirements noted above receive payment under this program. Even if dental practices are not eligible for the Advance Payment Program, enrollment in EFT is required to receive the PPE supplies payments. These payments will be deposited in the practice owner’s account of record.

Is there a special code to receive the PPE payment?
No; just submit your billing as you normally would.

Do I need to repay the PPE Program payments I receive?
No; unlike the APP payments, you do not need to repay these funds.

Are the PPE Supplies Program payments taxable income?
Yes; these payments will be added to your 2020 IRS Form 1099.

I want to charge an additional per-patient sanitization/PPE/etc. fee; will Delta Dental cover that fee? Is there a code for that?
No. We will not cover additional sanitization/PPE/etc. fees, and they are not billable to the patient.
