PARSIPPANY, N.J. — April 1, 2017 — Committee recently approved a new CDT code for HbA1c diabetes testing. Delta Dental of New Jersey recently piloted a program that enabled network dentists to incorporate the screening for patients at risk for diabetes. The success of that program led the Delta Dental Plans Association to suggest the new code to the ADA Code Committee. “This is one more example where Delta Dental is taking leadership in recognizing the role of dentists in the treatment of diabetic patients and patients with other systemic issues,” says Dr. Keith Libou, Chief Clinical Officer. “This is a major step forward in recognizing the link between good oral and overall health.”
